Guidelines for Authors

Iranian Journal of Oil & Gas Science and Technology (IJOGST)

 

All the manuscripts submitted to the Iranian Journal of Oil and Gas Science and Technology (IJOGST) arepeer reviewed. In order to facilitate the process of peer reviewing, authors are encouraged to submit their papers according to the guidelines provided below.

Manuscript Submission

Iranian Journal of Oil and Gas Science and Technology receives all manuscript submissions electronically via its website located at http://ijogst.put.ac.ir. Your manuscript should be maximum 16 pages with figures and tables.

 

Manuscript Copyright (Copyright Form)

Papers previously published, copyrighted, or being considered for publication elsewhere should not be submitted to the IJOGST, nor may a paper that is under consideration by the IJOGST be submitted elsewhere.

The translations of papers previously published in languages other than English can be considered as a submission; however, the author(s) must provide this information and the permission to reprint the paper at the time of submission. 

By submitting a manuscript to IJOGST, the author/authors agree to the policy of the IJOGST. The published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-ND 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided each paper is properly cited.

 

Conflict of interest ( Conflict of Interest Form)

All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work. Please fill the Conflict of Interest Form and upload it during the submission.

 

Manuscript Inquiries and Correspondence

If there are any questions about a manuscript, the editor(s) will only respond to written correspondence from the corresponding author of the record. All inquiries from co-authors should go through the corresponding author.

 

Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors agree with the author list and technical content before submitting the manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the manuscript at the time of submission. Author names and affiliations must be complete and correct at the time of paper submission. While corrections can be made at the proof stage for authors who have changed institutions since the time of paper

acceptance, author cannot be added or deleted after the proof stage. If the corresponding author wishes to add or delete authors, the paper must be withdrawn, corrected, and resubmitted.

Highlights

* Niger delta oil samples were assessed for depositional environment and organic matter source.

* Three samples were deposited in an oxic environment, while two were deposited in an anoxic environment.

* The organic source inputs showed type III kerogen (Terrestrial) and a mixture of types II and III (Marine).

 

Abstract

Each article should be summarized in an abstract limited to 115 to 300 words in both Persian and English . Subject, Affiliations, Keywords should be translated too. A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article; so, it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, references, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations, formula, and any other signs should be avoided in the abstract.

 

Headline

Headlines should be numbered to 2 levels and the first letter of the first word of each headline should be capitalized. The third level should be numbered using English lower case alphabet (i.e. a, b, c, etc.). An example can be like:

Illustrations

Illustrations submitted should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these criteria:

      √  300 dpi or higher;

      √  Sized to fit on journal page;

      √  JPEG, TIFF, or PSD graphic formats only;

      √  Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text; they should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled with a caption given below the figure, taking into account necessary size reduction. The graph axes should be connected to each other to a make a closed box around the graph (see below).

Acknowledgements

Acknowledgements must be complete and correct at the time of submission. It should be placed at the end of paper preceding the references. Additions or deletions cannot be made at the proof stage. If the corresponding author wishes to add or delete sponsoring institutions or persons, the paper must be withdrawn, corrected, and resubmitted.

 

Nomenclatures

Nomenclatures should be included in manuscripts in a box when necessary. The following format should be followed:

References should be addressed by the name of first author, et al. year in brackets (e.g. (Fairbanks, et al. 1971)) in the text and sorted alphabetically at the end of the manuscript without being numbered. It is also substantially recommended to the authors to refer to recent references in last 10 years rather than old and out of date ones. Volume, issue and pages of the whole references must be specified according to the IJOGST format.Authors should refer to the one or more articles published on IJOGST.
